Explore Phase 3 →There are very few moments in a lifetime when a community has the opportunity to build something that will shape its future for generations.
This is one of those moments.
For over two decades, Jewish life on Vancouver Island has grown — family by family, program by program, milestone by milestone. Victoria is now Canada's fastest-growing Jewish community, with 67% growth over the past decade. Now, for the first time, we have the opportunity to create something permanent.
A place where:
Dorot Village will bring it all together — under one vision, in one place, for generations to come.
Dorot Village is a purpose-built, multigenerational campus that will unite every stage of Jewish life on Vancouver Island.
Here, children and elders will not live separate lives. They will learn from one another. Celebrate together. And strengthen the continuity of Jewish life — side by side.
Explore Kineret Tamim Academy →Jewish life does not continue by accident. It continues because people choose to build it — because they invest in what matters most.
Dorot Village is about ensuring that Jewish life on Vancouver Island not only continues — but thrives.
Giving every Jewish child a school that nurtures identity and excellence
A gathering place for families, celebrations, and shared life
Rooting each generation in the richness of Jewish heritage
Building something that will outlast us all — for generations to come
Every part of this community has a story worth knowing. Explore what makes Dorot Village more than just a building.
These are the voices of the people who are building this community — and who will benefit from what we create together.

'This Capital Campaign is an investment in our future, and Chabad of Vancouver Island has a track record for delivering.'
It is difficult to identify anything more important than Jewish education for our children and a Jewish residence for our elders. KTA needs a building — and a Jewish seniors' residence beside the school creates a community where generations connect.

'It is a cause I am proud and inspired to support.'
Continuity, community, and connection are the threads with which we weave a stronger Jewish future. Dorot Village represents a legacy of learning and inclusion that will benefit our entire community, today and for generations to come.

'Our family has found not just belonging, but deep purpose, pride, and joy in being Jewish.'
I was raised in a secular home and longed to give my children a stronger connection to Judaism, but I often felt like an outsider. When we found Chabad in Victoria, everything changed.

'We have felt more belonging and acceptance at Chabad of Victoria than anywhere else.'
It has brought Jewish community back into our lives in a meaningful way, and I'm deeply grateful to be able to pass that connection on to my son.

'It has been wonderful to witness our children immersed and excited about both the Judaic and secular curriculum at KTA.'
Supported by the most dedicated and enthusiastic staff — we couldn't be more grateful for what this school has given our family.

'Family, school, and community merge into one unifying experience.'
Not just for the children, but for the parents and grandparents as well. Supportive, nourishing, and sensitive, all in perfect balance. Tikkun Olam abounds, whether one is Jewish or not.
In 2003, Rabbi Meir and Chana Kaplan opened Chabad of Vancouver Island from their living room — with just a handful of families. Today it has grown into Victoria's fastest-growing Jewish community, with a 67% increase over the past decade.
From the first preschool with four students to an award-winning Chabad Centre, a Mikvah, a summer camp, a kosher store — the foundation has been built. This growth didn't happen by chance. It happened because people showed up and built it.
In 2024 we opened Kineret Tamim Academy — Victoria's first Jewish day school. Now in 2026 we break ground on Dorot Village — a permanent, purpose-built campus that will house the school, the preschool, the Chabad Centre, and a new Jewish seniors' residence.
With $6.5M already raised and a $16M goal remaining, the campaign is underway. Now, we take the next step.
By 2028, Dorot Village will stand as a permanent home for Jewish life on Vancouver Island — a place where seniors live with dignity and connection, children grow with strong Jewish identity, and families experience true community.
A place designed not just for today — but for generations. Poised to become an international model for multigenerational Jewish community.
There are very few opportunities in life to help build something that will stand for generations. Dorot Village is one of them.
